The Schleicher ASH 31 Mi is a single-seater glider and the self-launching successor to the ASH 26 E. Depending on the length of the wing tips, this development by Martin Heide belongs to the 18 m class or, with a 21 m span, to the open class.
With the self-launching ASH 26 E, Alexander Schleicher already set clear trends 20 years ago, which were enthusiastically received by hundreds of customers worldwide.
The ASH 31 Mi continues this success story and has already been sold more than 100 times in just a few years of construction
Now, we are very proud to offer here this (1:3.5 or 28%) scale reproduction of
this high end performance
glider.
This is a great glider to step into scale soaring, you will get a nice soaring experience with this high performance glider and be
surprised how docile this glider is in the air, an outstanding performer. It will allow you to explore all the soaring capability, from smooth graceful thermalling to the taste of
speed and light aerobatics. Its smooth behaviour makes it a great candidate to amazing distances for scale cross country
flying. Again: ultimate soaring!
This ASH-31 features a 4 piece wing which makes it very transportable. The kit comes completely built, and
ready for radio installation. Only a few hours are required, before you go to the field.
The hollow moulded wings is in two pieces each side and is fully glass and
carbon reinforced and white painted in the mould. Double stage airbrakes are
installed and ready to be connected by the mean of a mini servo. Ailerons and
flaps are hinged ready to hook up. Winglets are removable. The scale details are supplied to complete a nice cockpit interior. The super strong wing
joiner system is made up of rectangular wing joiners.
Landing retractable wheel comes installed with it's own servo and ready to work. An extensive hardware package with IDS system for the wings and short building instructions are completing the kit. If you would like to venture into
large scale gliders this ASH-31 is a must!
We of course also offer the self
launchable ASH-31Mi, it can either be fitted with a FES system in the nose or retractable edf unit. It will
take off the ground with ease and give you several full height
launches.
Radio requirements are high
torque wing servos for the ailerons,
two for the flaps and two additional servos for the airbrakes. Four regular servos
for the elevator, rudder and retract. Additional servos might be installed for
aerotow.
