The Standard Cirrus was designed by Dipl. Ing. Klaus Holighaus and flew for the first time in March 1969.
It is a Standard Class glider with a 15-metre span and no camber-changing flaps.
It had an all-moving tailplane, a feature of many designs of that period.
Schmepp - Hirth produced about 700 units until 1977 when the production of this aircraft was over.
In various licenses, the glider was produced until 1985. All Cirrus models are very popular in Club Class competitions around the world.
The model comes as a fully molded kit and is suitable for traditional thermal flying and also performs very well in acrobatics.
Optionally available as self-launch with electric power system in the fuselage.
