The DG-1000 is produced by Dirks-Glaser. It
declines in two spans, 18 m which is fully aerobatic and the 20 m high performance version.
The design target was to put together all advantages of three current designs on the
market the ASK-21, the Duo Discus and the DG-505. The wingplanform may remember the Duo
Discus and has a quad taper, which improves the low speed handling. The seats have been
rearranged so the rear seat is higher to improve visibility. The main wheel has been moved
forward so that the front wheel could be removed to reduce it's induced drag. We at ICARE
are very proud to offer here a (~1:3.75) exclusive super-scaleTM reproduction of a very high performance
glider.
Never flown such large glider, you will get the
ultimate soaring experience with this high performance glider and be
surprised how docile this glider is in the air, a real performer. The two
wingspans will allow you to explore all the soaring capability, from smooth graceful
thermalling to the taste of adrenalin with thrilling aerobatics. Its outstanding
behavior makes it a great candidate to amazing distances for scale cross country
flying. Again: ultimate soaring!
The wings and all control
surfaces are of very accurate hollow-moulded construction. The well-proven HQ airfoil gives this fine model its smooth and versatile
flying characteristics. This model
is comfortable on a slope and can be winch launched but is at it’s best when
aero-towed. Its thermalling
performance is exceptional and the wings are sufficiently strong to withstand
some aerobatics. Like its
full-scale counterpart, the forward swept, triple tapered wing plan form looks
especially graceful and unique in the air.
This glider comes completely built, and
ready for radio installation. Only a few hours are required, before you go to the field.
The moulded wings are made from carbon and Kevlar
components, a carbon and glass fibre strengthener runs through the centre
of the wings. Airbrakes are
installed and ready to be connected by the mean of a mini servo. Ailerons and
flaps are hinged ready to hook up. The high
gloss, gel coated Fiberglasfuselage has the wing joiner carrying tubes, the rudder
and elevator installed. The cockpit comes with all main components like the instrument mushrooms,
seats, head rests done, it is the most detailed cockpit ever made. Canopy opens sidewise like the full size.
Landing retractable wheel comes with brakes are installed and ready to work,
like the tow release. A small package hardware and
building instructions are completing the kit. If you would like to venture into
large scale gliders this DG-1000 is a must!
Radio requirements are two micro servos for the ailerons,
two for the flaps and two additional micro servos for the airbrakes. Four regular servos
for the elevator, rudder and retract. Additional servos might be installed for
aero-tow, water ballast
(2 x 1,25 l – output
radio controlled), and brake of landing gear.Complete combo package and FES available upon request
