The DG-600 from DG Flugzeugbau (formerly
Glaser-Dirks) was designed in 1987 and made available in three configurations:
a 15 M class sailplane with winglets, a 17 M version with detachable tips and a
self-launching motorized version. To the end of production they build the
Evolution with a wingspan of 18m. The extended wing version is still
competitive with the newer DG-800 in the 18 M class. The wing molds for the
DG-600 were destroyed in a fire at the factory in 1992 so only 112 units were
built. The few lucky pilots who own the limited number of this aircraft are
blessed with a sailplane that is still competitive in both the 15-meter class
and, with extended wing tips, the open class.
The model reflects the top performance the original had, very wide
speed range, great thermal capability, a great all glass slipper.
This glider comes completely built, and
ready for radio installation. All parts are of high gloss white finish moulded
parts. High strength wings with ailerons controls, live hinged and gap less.
Comes with a 14mm hardened steel joiner. Fuselage reinforced with high strength
carbon tows. Scale seat with instrument panels. 2K polyurethane painted parts
for UV stability, no yellowish gel coat over the years. Top of fuselage
repainted for seamless look. Available in full carbon version if requested.
