Koleos is a limited quantity edition for our 30st year of business:
The
Koleos
electric is a lightweight electric glider perfect for light condition and small areas. The construction is based on the moulded carbon D-box technology
that made the Magellan series so so successful. This type of construction
results in a very strong, light wing and a very accurate airfoil shape
over the leading edge - the most important part of the airfoil.
To reduce the overall weight, the
Koleos KC
fuselage consists of a Kevlar pod and a carbon fibre boom. The light
Kevlar pod has the strength to stand up to the hard catches and landings
of the competitive flyer. The carbon boom is a work of art - thin,
light and stiff. The tail moment has been lengthened for improved
pitch dampening and responsiveness to control inputs.
To save weight, no flaps were built in these wings, ailerons up are used to control low speed landing. The low inertia of the wings allow the glider to react to the lightest lift. The
low drag, hollow-molded tips are swept back to reduce the stall speed and curved
up to reduce the turning radius. This, combined with an overall improvement in
handling, results in a sailplane that will allow you to work small low-level
thermals with confidence.
All parts of the
Koleos
are pre-finished so very little time is required to get it into the air. The
two-piece wing is completely finished and covered in Oracover Light, it holds
together by means of a steel rod and against the fuselage with two bolts. The
aileron version has the servo wires pre-installed. The balsa "V" tail is covered
and only needs to be joined at the center. The fuselage
comes complete with a trimmed canopy, wing hold down block and ruddervator
pushrods pre-installed. You will need two of your favorite sub-micro servos and
a micro receiver. We
have created an extremely well balanced setup for this glider by using a
small powerful outrunner in its spinner the Compact 480 (which weights only 30 g, including spinner), this
setup will give a nice 100-150 W, power level can be adjusted
by changing prop size to suit pilots wanted climb rate. Other setups
available upon request!
Koleos KC comes in a variety of colors, inquire for current available colors
We offer complete combo packages of this Koleos, just inquire for current pricing.
No time to build, the Koleso is also available as Receiver ready PNF in limited quantities.
